I just updated! No Street View for iPod Touch?!?!

Well lets keep waiting for the hardware exploit and finally jailbreak
  • NobodyYouShouldKnow · 1 year ago
I can always downgrade back to 2.1.1 as long as I have the ipsw, right? The shift-click on the restore button trick?
  • Doc · 1 year ago
Since there is no baseband it is secure to upgrade and complete downgrade works aswell.

Flash memory uses NAND chip, not NOR.

What does the pictures saying? Is it for the ipod touch 2g?
  • Alex · 1 year ago
Thanks for the update. Was wondering if you had the vfdecrypt key for the normal 5G77 builds? Might be a bit early in asking but, I figured it couldn't hurt.

Hey, is the filesystem dump private? Because I can't find it on google or anywhere.
  • chronicdev · 1 year ago
yes, it would be illegal to distribute.
  • NobodyYouShouldKnow · 1 year ago
Also, I'll be happy with just RW access to the filesystem to install cracked apps.

What's your top priority right now?

    update right now???

    question for chronic-dev :

creating a custom ipsw with pwnagetool strips the ipsw of the baseband upgrade. suppose I'm ultra-paranoid, and given the ipsw is just a zip file, how can I make sure that my custom ipsw doesn't contain the baseband upgrade before flashing it? (which files to look for inside ,etc?)

I'm always afraid that I didn't check something and that the custom ipsw will upgrade my 01.45 baseband.

    thanks in advance!

if you have a 3G, hold off until new PwnageTool release. If it is an iPod Touch, well, you do not have a baseband to worry about for unlock.

I've already updated my Ipod Touch 2G. Are there any ways to downgrad ?
  • An_intrigued_visitor · 1 year ago
You can use a DFU restore to downgrade, but why bother?
  • Andy · 1 year ago
It was only a question :P thx for the answer

NOR = where the low level bootloader, bootloader, devicetree, boot images, SysCfg, and NVRAM are

NAND = where the filesystem of the device is, like a hard drive
  • Dan · 1 year ago
isn't our ipod use nand instead of nor,

chronicdev... as of 1/4/09 when do you expect a new version of quickpwn to be released that is compatible with the itouch 2g software?
