I hear things are actually starting to come around with the devteam. Anyone else heard this? and how about chronic? Are they making progress?

Even at the beginning when jailbreaking was at its hardest and riskiest it was still relatively simple so long as you carefully followed the directions and were able to adapt when things didn't go EXACTLY like how the instructions said, so I'd have faith that over a year later pretty much anything they release is going to be very easy to use. Whatever directions they give you will lead you to success. Unless you're COMPLETELY computer illiterate in which case ud prob be better off not attempting it at all. Whether it's a One Button jailbreak or a 20 step process, I think they'll make it pretty straight forward for us... thats my opinion, anyway...

Honestly at this point though, I've been pretty happy with the new iPod. THere are plenty of cool apps and agames, i do miss SSHing in and customizing my dock, background, icons, etc though. Also, the categories app was amazing. Those two things alone would make it worth JBreaking...

The person who wrote as chronicdev about downgrading his firmware is an impostor! Do not download the file given or you will have a chance of getting a harmful virus! Whoever posted as chronicdev is a complete joke that came up with a sick trick! If jailbreaking the ipod touch 2g was possible then the above news would Change!

So once this is done, we'll be using a new software (not quickpwn) to hack our 2gs? If I remember correctly, quickpwn was known for its ease of use, so any guesses as to how simple this new hack is going to be? Any thoughts on the user-friendliness? And if its not quickpwn, will we still get the famed pinapple boot logo?

Your method wouldn't work anyway, as less as i comprehend this work, the 1st gen has a different processor than that of a 2nd gen so STFU about your 'modifyed' and 'compatibel' files as ANY modification would be unnaccepted.

hey i found out that if i downgraded my firmware and modified it to match tyhe 1st gens it works with quickpwn. heres a link to my modifyed firmware. this works with itouch 2g!!!! http://uploading.com/files/......

i know nothing about this, but i heard somebody say that if they could fake the apple signature they could create a application with a backdoor, but faking the signature isnt possible, so, couldn't you download any application from the apple appstore and put a backdoor on it?

It could be entirely new software, seeing as how Quickpwn relys on an exploit that is not in the iPod touch 2G.

Although posting "we love you chronic keep it up" won't help the jailbreak, don't you think that chronic would rather read through a page of positive comments, then a page full of negative comments? Without these "love you chronic" posts, there'd be nothing worth reading, except for that guy who writes " chronic is gay" a thousand times.
I understand that you've got a point, comments WILL NOT help chronic get the jailbreak, but if you were chronic, wouldn't you want some encouragement and support?
